Is pyright meant to be a drop-in replacement for mypy?

based on my investigations, it seems like pyright is a more performant static type checker compared to mypy.

mypy is taking 11 minutes to run in our CI, and was looking for either alternatives. Sorry for the dumb question in advance, but I figured Id ask quickly here :)
