Show skipped test name in detailed summary report?

When running the test_example.py from the documentation with the -v option, the skipped test has its name shown in the run log, but in the short test summary info the skipped test is referred by <file name>:<line number>. See also the screenshot below.

Is there a way to also get the test name for the skipped test in the short test summary info?

Yes. Since pytest 8.3.0, run:

pytest -rs --no-fold-skipped

-rs includes skipped tests in the short summary; --no-fold-skipped lists them individually by node ID instead of grouping them by reason and showing file:line. With pytest 9.1.1 I get SKIPPED [1] test_skip.py:4: demonstration from -rs, and SKIPPED test_skip.py::test_named_example - Skipped: demonstration with --no-fold-skipped.

The 8.3.0 changelog documents the new flag and its node ID behavior.
