I generated a stretched grid with the following stretching parameters: cent_lon=-12.0, cent_lat=50 (I tried 72 and 65 also), and stretch_fac= 2.5 for C384 global grid using UFS_UTILS. I also generated the necessary fix files and surface input files. The model did not like any of the stretched grids mentioned above and it blew up. So, I changed cent_lat to 24 and the model worked fine in this case. So, this issue seems like it is related to stretching near the poles. Are you aware of this issue and if so, is there a remedy for this?
