Defaults to registry.npmjs.org; npm rewrites the lockfile's registry.npmjs.org URLs to the configured registry, so image contents are unchanged.

npm ci from registry.npmjs.org ran at ~12 KB/s inside Docker on this network (npmmirror: 11 MB/s), stalling the 0.5.3 image build. Adds
--build-arg NPM_REGISTRY=…; default unchanged. Build-only, no image content change.
