Symptom (#887): a coalesced batch of several assignments seeded the claim, lease and spawn log for the newest object only.

Fix is upstream and merged (defangdevs/local-channels#103 + #104, 0.34.1, per the maintainer's direction on #887/#919): events about different objects never share a batch. This bumps the pin from 0.32.0 to 0.34.1 (rev 17c457a). No agent-box code change is needed: each batch now has one object, so the existing single-meta claim, lease and log are complete.

0.33.0 rides along (never pinned here): the durable Maildir-style inbox for accepted deliveries (local-channels#60, #100). Worth a look from whoever knows its disk footprint on small boxes.

Cost: N objects arriving together start N sessions (against the session cap, #662) instead of one.

Checks (aarch64): module-generated-up-to-date, golden-snapshot, webhook-defer, webhook-spawn-claim, webhook-route, one-spec-both-backends. Module regenerated; golden and native fixtures unchanged. VM lanes on CI.

This covers the claim/lease/log part of #887. Not done (own design question): a per-object disposition that survives agent-box-session rm; with one object per session it is much smaller, so I'd wait to see whether it is still needed.

Refs #887.

🤖 Generated with Claude Code

Update: re-pinned to 0.34.1 (local-channels#104: source, topic and watch name join the bucket) to address CodeRabbit's finding 1. Still open: its finding 2 (no cap on request body or spool, local-channels#105), a maintainer decision.

0.34.0 keys the dispatch bucket on the object an event is about (issue/PR
number, CI sha, generic identifier), so a coalesced batch never holds two
objects and the single spawn meta is complete (#887). Skips no release, but
note 0.33.0 rides along: the durable on-disk inbox for accepted deliveries.

Explanation

The PR updates both local-webhook pins from 0.32.0 to revision 257822e (0.34.0). The supplied PR evidence states that this revision separates events for different objects into separate batches. Existing agent-box handling then processes one object per batch, which addresses the single-meta claim, lease, and spawn-log defect in #887. The reported checks include webhook spawn-claim behavior and both backend coverage. The PR does not claim to implement the separate disposition-after-rm design question.

Full details: Out of Scope Changes check

Explanation

The whole PR changes only the local-webhook revision and hash in modules/agent-box.nix and nix/webhook-pin.nix. The dependency bump directly implements the #887 fix. The 0.33.0 durable inbox is an intervening dependency change required by the 0.34.0 pin, not an unrelated agent-box feature. No unrelated source or test changes are present.

Explanation

No functions found in the changed files to evaluate docstring coverage. Skipping docstring coverage check. Docstring coverage is scoped to functions touched by this diff. Analyzed 0 functions across 0 files. (2 skipped: 2 unsupported.)

Full details: Title check

Explanation

The title names the change: bumping the pinned local-webhook version from 0.32.0 to 0.34.1, tied to the per-object batches fix for issue #887. The raw summary confirms the pin and hash changes in modules/agent-box.nix and nix/webhook-pin.nix. The title is specific and matches the main change. It is a chore-type title, which is acceptable.

Full details: Description check

Explanation

The description explains the change: a dependency pin bump from 0.32.0 to 0.34.1 (rev 17c457a) that brings in upstream per-object batching for issue #887. It also covers the bundled 0.33.0 durable inbox, the session-count tradeoff, the aarch64 checks run, and the deferred design question. This matches the raw summary of the pin and hash updates.

0.33.0's durable inbox drops a re-sent delivery id as a duplicate before
dispatch, so the dispatch-brake post (the third send of test-1) never reached
the dispatcher and the "not spawning" log line the test waits for never came.
Re-sends that must be processed again now carry a fresh id; the signature
covers the body only, so nothing else changes.

State after the first CI run and CodeRabbit's review:

  • CI (VM (webhook)): the first failure was the known installed_plugins.json flake; the rerun then showed a real one. 0.33.0 (which this pin bump brings along) drops a re-sent delivery id as a duplicate, and the test posts test-1 a third time and waits for a "not spawning" log. Fixed in aa9bc1d: re-sends that must be processed again get their own id. Needs a green VM run to confirm (x86-only; I could only eval it).
  • Finding 1, source/topic in the bucket: valid. Fix is upstream: local-channels#104 (0.34.1). I will re-pin here once it is merged, so this PR is not merge-ready on that thread until then.
  • Finding 2, unbounded body and spool: confirmed real in 0.33.0 (not new in 0.34.0), but the limits are a design decision, so it is local-channels#105 with a recommendation. Adopting a pin that carries the unbounded spool is a decision for the maintainer: either merge this and accept it until Add repo link and disable terminal leave alert #105 lands, or hold the bump. I have not resolved either thread.

0.34.1 adds the event's source, the matching watch's topic and its name to the
dispatch bucket (local-channels#104), closing the review findings on this PR:
one object id from two senders, or under two watches, never shares a batch.
