BMS UI

BMS UI is a TypeScript Next.js application using shadcn/ui for UI components. This repository contains the frontend interface for managing the Building Management System (BMS).

📦 Prerequisites

Before setting up the development environment, ensure you have the following installed:

• Node.js (LTS recommended)
• npm (default package manager)
• Git

🔧 Setup Instructions

1️⃣ Clone the Repository

git clone https://github.com/dev-dojo-uok/bms-ui.git
cd bms-ui

2️⃣ Install Dependencies

Use npm to install dependencies:

npm install

3️⃣ Configure Environment Variables

Create a .env.local file in the root directory and add the necessary environment variables.

cp env.example .env

Then, update .env.local with the correct values.

4️⃣ Start the Development Server

Run the following command to start the local development server:

npm run dev

This will start the Next.js app.

5️⃣ Build and Run (Optional)

To build the project for production:

npm run build

To start the production server:

npm start
