nuget.org refused the 3.1.0 symbol packages, which stopped the push after the first package. Only dk.nita.saml20.ext.audit.log4net 3.1.0 was published, and it's now unlisted, so the release becomes 3.1.1.

Release workflow

  • The symbol packages keep only the file types nuget.org accepts. nuget pack also copied the nuspec's readme and logo into them.
  • The pack job fails if a symbol package has no PDB or its PDB isn't portable, so a dry run catches this.
  • Packages are pushed first and symbols in a separate step, so a refused symbol package can't stop the packages.

Build: the Release configuration builds portable PDBs, the only kind nuget.org's symbol server accepts. The code doesn't change.

Docs

  • RELEASE_NOTES.md: the entry is now 3.1.1, and says what happened to 3.1.0.
  • readme.md: "Latest NuGet release", now 3.1.1.
  • developernotes.md: the Trusted Publishing policy's scope and glob pattern, the environment's tag rule and NUGET_USER.

Checked: a run of the Release workflow by hand from this branch (d4c6354) passed. All three symbol packages hold only allowed files and a portable PDB. The push itself can only be tested by the tag.

nuget.org refused the 3.1.0 symbol packages, which stopped the push after the first package.
- The symbol packages keep only the file types nuget.org accepts, and the pack job checks that the PDBs are portable.
- The Release configuration builds portable PDBs, as nuget.org's symbol server requires.
- Packages are pushed before and separately from symbols.
- Release notes and readme refer to 3.1.1; the developer notes describe the policy's scope and glob pattern, the environment's tag rule and NUGET_USER.
