Julie, I approve of this PR. Thanks for adding the linkcheck workflow. Also, thanks for updating the versions of existing GHA workflows to eliminate deprecatin warnings.

I do see that main.yaml workflow is still failing, but I actually think that that workflow should probably be removed since it is currently only attempting to build the docs, which is handled by a separate workflow.
