ecoPrimals White Papers

The complete intellectual lineage of sovereign distributed scientific computing.

Generations

This repository contains 5 generations of white papers documenting the evolution from a single hypothesis about microbial quorum sensing to a full distributed computing ecosystem.

Gen 0 — The Hypothesis (2023)

Anderson localization in bacterial quorum sensing. What if the physics of wave propagation in disordered media explains how bacteria coordinate collective behavior? The founding conjecture.

Gen 1 — Agricultural Applications (2023-2024)

No-till farming, microbiome analysis, field genomics. Applying the hypothesis to real-world agricultural science on commodity hardware.

Gen 2 — Sovereign Infrastructure (2024)

The realization: scientific computing doesn't require cloud providers or NVIDIA GPUs. Pure Rust + WebGPU/WGSL can do lattice QCD, molecular dynamics, and protein structure prediction on hardware you already own.

Gen 3 — The Ecosystem (2024-2025)

16 primals emerge: biomeOS, songBird, skunkBat, toadStool, coralReef, barraCuda, bingoCube, bearDog, nestGate, rhizoCrypt, loamSpine, squirrel, sweetGrass, petalTongue, cellMembrane, sourDough.

Gen 4 — The Membrane (2025-2026)

The ecosystem becomes self-aware. Immune system (skunkBat), nervous system (songBird), metabolism (toadStool). 117 research papers. DNSSEC. Klein bottle topology. The membrane IS the intelligence.

Gen 5 — guerillaGorilla

Ethics, economics, and the philosophy of sovereign computing.
