Had an issue in getting my NANOBANANA_API_KEY recognized, probably due to latest Gemini CLI updates.
Issue and fix are described here and here.
Updated gemini-estension.json accordingly in order to explicitly map the API Key environment variables for the nanobanana MCP server using the
$expansion syntax. That fixed the issue for me.
