ProxyKit Homebrew Tap

Official Homebrew tap for the ProxyKit command-line tools.

ProxyKit CLI is the terminal companion for ProxyKit. It installs:

  • proxykit — the CLI for automation, scripting, and controlling ProxyKit workflows.
  • proxy-engine — the bundled headless proxy engine used by the CLI.

The desktop app is distributed separately from proxykit.net.

Install

brew install getproxykit/tap/proxykit-cli

Homebrew will automatically tap this repository the first time you install the formula.

If you prefer the explicit two-step form:

brew tap getproxykit/tap
brew install proxykit-cli

Verify

proxykit version

If you already have another ProxyKit installation earlier in your PATH, call the Homebrew-installed binary directly:

$(brew --prefix)/opt/proxykit-cli/bin/proxykit version

Update

brew update
brew upgrade proxykit-cli

Uninstall

brew uninstall proxykit-cli

To remove the tap too:

brew untap getproxykit/tap

Release Integrity

Formula downloads are pinned to immutable versioned artifacts on release.proxykit.net, for example v1.0.0/cli/..., and Homebrew verifies each archive with the SHA256 checksum in the formula before installation.

The formula in this repository is generated from ProxyKit release metadata. Do not edit checksums by hand.

Platforms

This tap currently provides proxykit-cli for:

  • macOS Apple silicon (darwin-arm64)
  • macOS Intel (darwin-amd64)
  • Linux ARM64 (linux-arm64)
  • Linux x64 (linux-amd64)

Windows users should use WinGet once the package is available:

winget install ProxyKit.ProxyKitCLI

Support

ProxyKit is proprietary software. Installing and using the CLI is governed by the ProxyKit terms.
