DigitalWorld is starting as a focused, browser-previewable 3D phone showroom. The first milestone is a rotatable product display with a permanently black screen, studio lighting, and a detailed procedural phone model. Phone manufacturing and tycoon systems can be layered in after the showroom foundation.
- Engine: Godot 4.7
- Main scene:
res://main.tscn - Main model/showroom script:
res://main.gd - Web renderer: Godot Web export (WebAssembly/WebGL 2)
- Hosting target: Cloudflare Pages
Pushing project changes to main triggers Build and publish DigitalWorld web preview. GitHub Actions validates/imports the project and exports the Web preset to build/web/. The export is uploaded as a workflow artifact for 7 days.
To also deploy automatically to Cloudflare Pages, configure these in GitHub repository settings:
- Repository secret
CLOUDFLARE_API_TOKENwith permission to deploy Pages. - Repository secret
CLOUDFLARE_ACCOUNT_ID. - Repository variable
CF_PAGES_PROJECT_NAMEmatching an existing Cloudflare Pages project.
Once configured, every successful push to main exports and deploys the browser build. Open the Pages URL and refresh to see updates. If an older build appears, use a hard refresh.
In Godot, install the matching export templates, select the Web preset, and export to build/web/index.html. Serve the resulting directory over HTTP; do not open index.html directly as a local file.
The current phone is procedural 3D geometry, not a scanned or professionally authored production mesh. It is a prototype foundation for materials, geometry, camera handling, and web delivery; photorealism will improve as the model and surface detail are refined. Browser performance should be tested on lower-end Android devices.
