I work on computer architecture and systems: ISA design, processor implementation, compilers, ABIs, operating systems, and low-level system software. Most of my questions are about the interfaces between those layers: what each one should expose and hide, and how a decision in one layer changes the others.
I test ideas by building them. An experimental system has to work with the layers around it, and whatever breaks there goes back into the design.
A 64-bit ISA and systems-software specification with variable-length encoding, restartable repeated instructions, and an optional scalable-vector extension. The project includes an LP64 C ABI, an executable Sail model, an LLVM toolchain, an emulator, and a DOOM port.

An experimental operating system built around Strata, a kernel exploring the Ambikernel model. Processes stay isolated by default, and signed modules can run in kernel-adjacent domains when the lower transition cost is worth it. It has its own ABI, toolchain, and interface definition language.
