A GPU-rendered Office document suite built in Rust
Native and WASM dual-target SDKs for seamless embedding
office-rs is dedicated to building a suite of GPU-rendered Office document products in Rust. Each document format (docx, ofd, future sheets, slides...) has its own parsing, layout, rendering, and editing engine, exposed uniformly as both native desktop and WebAssembly SDKs.
We believe:
- Native GPU rendering is the only way to meet modern office documents' demands for layout precision and interaction fluidity.
- Rust's memory safety and zero-cost abstractions make it the best language for hosting complex document engines.
- Native + WASM dual-target lets the same engine embed into desktop apps and browser/Electron/Tauri hosts alike — truly "write once, embed everywhere."
| Project | Format | Spec | Capabilities | Live Demo | Status |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|

All projects ship as both native Rust crates and JS SDKs on npm.
The matrix is still expanding — spreadsheets (sheets), presentations (slides), and more are on the roadmap.
