claude-3-opus-20240229stopped working on January 5, 2026. Anthropic's deprecations page says so (as read), and every request that names it fails from then on. This repo still sends it fromsrc/scicode/gen/models.py:61.Replaced the retired default model
claude-3-opus-20240229withclaude-opus-4-8ingenerate_anthropic_response. Also removed thetemperatureargument from themessages.createcall, because the SDK no longer accepts it andclaude-opus-4-8rejects non-default values. Thetemperatureparameter stays in the function signature, so callers that pass it won't break, but it is now ignored. Output may change because sampling now uses the API default.claude-opus-4-8is the replacement Anthropic names; its answers can differ fromclaude-3-opus-20240229's and it's priced differently. Not run against the API.Found and drafted with an automated tool, and reviewed by a person before it was opened.
