…ool-registry feat: add generic wait tools
…9-228-tool-registry
Update the pinned tinyinference and tinytools submodule commits to their latest revisions. Auto-committed-on: cuttlefish Co-authored-by: Medulla <medulla@tinyhumans.ai>

Adds tests for the truncated-empty constant-cap path, verifying that retries reach the provider rather than replaying a cached blank and that only the usable answer is cached. Also covers recovery bypassing a blank cached before retries were enabled, while disabled recovery still replays exactly. Auto-committed-on: cuttlefish Co-authored-by: Medulla <medulla@tinyhumans.ai>

Add the missing RunPolicy import to the dead call test module so the tests can reference the runtime policy type. Auto-committed-on: cuttlefish Co-authored-by: Medulla <medulla@tinyhumans.ai>
Update the README to match the retry behaviour: the default retry count is now two, the first retry reuses the original output cap before later retries double it, and a new constant-cap option pins every retry to that cap. Also document the reasoning-effort overrides that turn reasoning off for the call after a truncated-empty reply, either once or stickily for the rest of the run. Auto-committed-on: cuttlefish Co-authored-by: Medulla <medulla@tinyhumans.ai>
Length-stopped blank responses are now excluded from the response cache whenever truncated-empty retries or nudges are enabled, so a retry at an unchanged cap reaches the provider instead of replaying the unusable cached answer. The check also consults the run policy rather than only the call shape, and the README documents the new caching behaviour. Auto-committed-on: cuttlefish Co-authored-by: Medulla <medulla@tinyhumans.ai>
The truncated-empty retry test now scripts an extra truncated response and checks the max_tokens of every request, pinning that the first retry keeps its cap and only the second grows it. Auto-committed-on: cuttlefish Co-authored-by: Medulla <medulla@tinyhumans.ai>
The pricing README now documents that lookup matches an exact canonical id first, then an id with a leading vendor segment removed, and that the fallback only accepts dated or preview snapshot decorations of listed ids. Unlisted variants such as gpt-4.1-nano and o3-pro return None instead of inheriting a base model's rates, and the remaining cached-rate and long-context limitations are restated as needing separate behavioral corrections. Auto-committed-on: cuttlefish Co-authored-by: Medulla <medulla@tinyhumans.ai>
The README now describes the fallback as choosing the longest listed id extended only by date/version fragments or release-channel words such as latest, preview, and exp, replacing the earlier wording about dated or preview snapshot decorations. …nts pin Exactly tinyhumansai#531 (merged as d829f92) on e193117, the tinyagents commit OpenHuman main pins (an epic branch commit that does not carry tinyhumansai#531 yet): `StateBlockMiddleware::hide_goal` leaves the thread goal out of the run-state block. Re-pin to a tinyagents commit that carries both once the epic reaches tinyagents main. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

Verdict: Ready for maintainer review · Priority: medium Diagnostics and supporting detailsFull summaryPull request purpose (title): feat: port the wait tools and agent_loop truncated-empty cache bypass from openhuman's pin. This pull-request ports onto `main` the work openhuman runs today so openhuman can pin tinyagents `main` instead of `ed2880b`. Eleven commits from #515 and #516 are cherry-picked with `-x`: generic wait tools, a response-cache bypass for truncated-empty retries in `agent_loop`, plus docs, tests, a conformance TTL widening, and a pricing README rewrite. Following the prior review, a new commit adds `--locked` to the MongoDB conformance workflow step, and the description lane reports that the PR body still claims this hunk was left out, so the description no longer matches the diff. The tests lane noted the 2.1-second real sleep in the SDK conformance suite as a timing-robustness trade-off rather than a blocking defect. The latest-push-delta section is unavailable, so all behavior described is whole-pull-request behavior. Unreviewed paths
Review snapshot
Completeness: Complete What changedAdds `WaitTool` and `WaitLoopTool` to `tinyagents-harness-tools` through a new `wait` module re-exported from the crate root, with the crate README updated. Reworks `agent_loop` so `should_skip_empty_response_cache` is policy-aware: truncated-empty recovery neither stores nor accepts blank length-stopped responses. Updates the agent_loop docs for the revised retry ladder, constant-cap, reasoning-off controls, and cache-bypass semantics, and rewrites the pricing README's lookup-fallback description. Adds tests for the cap ladder, cache bypass, and the wait tools' wire schemas and clamping; widens the conformance testkit cache TTL; and adds `--locked` to the session-mongodb conformance step. Brings the epic line that openhuman pins (ed2880b, sanil-23's feat/openhuman-pin-531-on-e19311758 on top of senamakel's epic/8089-test-ownership e193117) up to main 19e7853. The merge had no textual conflicts. It keeps main's vendor gitlinks (tinyinference f5c0e56, tinytools 75e42ba) and tinyhumansai#531 (on both sides). The epic's `--locked` for the session MongoDB proof is kept. The proof lock's workspace crates are moved to 2.11.0 so that `--locked` holds against this workspace version.

Moves vendor/tinyagents from ed2880b (sanil-23's pin on epic/8089-test-ownership) to tinyagents main 1f24dbe, the merge of tinyhumansai/tinyagents#570, which brought that epic into main. A fast-forward of 94 commits. The nested pins move with it (tinyinference f5c0e56, tinytools 75e42ba). Lockfiles follow in their own commit.
