chore(tinytools): remove tinytools-std - #99
Conversation
The tinytools-std crate and all of its tool implementations have been deleted, leaving the workspace with the tinytools contract definitions only. The README now states that concrete tools belong in their owning host or module rather than in this repository. Auto-committed-on: cuttlefish Co-authored-by: Medulla <medulla@tinyhumans.ai>
Update the workspace guidance, the web_fetch status module docs, and the host-adoption map to stop pointing at `tinytools-std`, which no longer exists. The shared tool definitions and call protocols now live in this workspace while concrete tools and host-independent building blocks belong in their owning host or module repository. Regenerate Cargo.lock after removing dependencies that are no longer referenced by the workspace, dropping transitive crates such as atomic-waker, base64, and the crypto stack. This shrinks the lockfile and keeps it in sync with the current manifest. Auto-committed-on: cuttlefish Co-authored-by: Medulla <medulla@tinyhumans.ai>
Tiny Sweeper reviewReviewed head: Verdict: Ready for maintainer review · Priority: none Diagnostics and supporting detailsFull summaryPull request purpose (title): chore(tinytools): remove tinytools-std. The pull request removes the `tinytools-std` crate so TinyTools ships only shared tool definitions and call protocols, with concrete tools owned by hosts and module repositories. It deletes the crate tree plus its workspace and lockfile entries, retargets the workspace documentation, drops the `web_fetch` status alias, and marks four plan/spec documents historical or superseded. Review snapshot
Completeness: Complete What changedThe `tinytools-std` crate and its `Cargo.lock` entries are removed, so the host-independent building blocks it provided no longer ship from this workspace: the filesystem tools behind an `FsGate`, the network tools behind a `NetGate`, the URL/SSRF guard, `file_state` tracking, PATH probing, and timeout/process-group management. `AGENTS.md` now states the workspace holds shared definitions and call protocols only, and `README.md` scopes the crate to definitions with a "No tool implementations" note. The rustdoc in `crates/tinytools/src/status/web_fetch.rs` is reworded to drop the `tinytools-std` reference with parser behavior unchanged, and `docs/host-adoption/72-host-adoption-map.md` no longer documents the removed `status_of` alias. Five plan/spec documents gain historical or superseded notes pointing to `tinyagents-harness-tools`. The description says downstream pins must be coordinated before merge, and the tests lane noted it could not verify whether `.github/workflows/ci.yml` still references the removed crate because that file is not in the diff. Add historical and superseded notes to the collapsed-tools, web-fetch, and fsgate documents, recording that the tinytools-std work was removed in tinytools#99 and its helper implementations are now owned by tinyagents-harness-tools. The status lines were adjusted so these documents no longer claim to describe APIs currently implemented by tinytools. Auto-committed-on: cuttlefish Co-authored-by: Medulla <medulla@tinyhumans.ai>

TinyTools now keeps shared definitions and call protocols; concrete tools live in their owning hosts and modules. This removes the unused
tinytools-stdcrate, its workspace and lockfile entries, and updates the documentation andweb_fetchstatus alias.Closes senamakel#5.
This is part of tinyhumansai/openhuman#8088. The downstream TinyAgents, TinyMCP, and OpenHuman integrations are tracked in the epic; coordinate their final pins before merging this removal.
