Since #337, the GSA URL bag lookup sends the Android client info, so Apple returns the reduced Android bag pointing at gsd.apple.com instead of gsa.apple.com (see #339). Ports the matching fixes from isideload 0.4.5 (iloader "Fix -80045"):

  • Use the Mac client info only for the URL bag lookup
  • Use the Android client info and akd user agent for all other GSA requests, including ADI provisioning; stop sending Mac hardware identifiers in cpd
  • Handle hsc 434 by resyncing Anisette and retrying once (remote v3 servers via sim; local XADI re-provisions)
  • Treat Status au / hsc 409 as 2FA ("code already sent")

What does this PR do?

Fixes password login after #337. The URL bag lookup was sending the Android client info, so Apple returned gsd.apple.com endpoints (see #339).

Ports isideload 0.4.5's fix: Mac client info for the URL bag only, Android everywhere else, plus handling for hsc 434 (Anisette resync) and 409 (2FA code already sent).

How was it tested?

WSL2, Swift 6.4: xtool setup logged in with trusted-device 2FA, and xtool dev installed the app on an iPhone 12. SMS 2FA and macOS not tested.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Improvements
    • Updated device identification used during account authentication and service lookups.
    • Added support for server-requested Anisette resynchronization, including the required device data.
    • Updated the Anisette service endpoint and clarified that password login emulates a Pixel phone.

📝 Walkthrough

GrandSlam response decoding now recognizes Anisette resynchronization data. The Omnisette provider includes resynchronization fields in header requests. Client identity strings, the default provider URL, and the password-login notice also change.

Changes: GrandSlam Anisette Updates

Layer / File(s) Summary
Decode resynchronization responses
Sources/XKit/GrandSlam/Requests/GrandSlamOperationRequest.swift
The decoder reads optional HTTP status, authentication mode, and SIM data. For status 434 with SIM data, it throws GrandSlamAnisetteResyncRequired. Operation requests no longer merge the device-info dictionary into client data.
Send resynchronization fields
Sources/XKit/GrandSlam/Anisette/OmnisetteADIProvider.swift
Synchronization header requests include base64-encoded SIM data, a device ID, and a local user ID. OTP requests leave those fields unset. The default server URL changes, and the provider's clientInfo() method is removed.
Update client identity values
Sources/XKit/GrandSlam/Anisette/DeviceInfo.swift, Sources/XKit/GrandSlam/Anisette/ADIDataProvider.swift, Sources/XKit/GrandSlam/Lookup/GrandSlamLookupManager.swift, Sources/XKit/GrandSlam/Anisette/XADIProvider.swift, Sources/XToolSupport/AuthCommand.swift
The code separates the Android client string from the macOS URL-bag string, changes the user agent, and uses the URL-bag string in lookup requests. The raw provider returns the Android string. A fixed clientInfo() method is removed, and the password-login notice now describes Pixel emulation.

Thanks for flagging the discrepancies. Any particular reason for including both the header changes and resync support in this PR? Does the former break without the latter? If there's no direct dependence I'd prefer this be split into two PRs.

No they don't depend on each other, the resync and 2FA handling are extras I brought over from isideload, and they only kick in on specific responses from Apple, so I'll trim this PR down to just the header changes and open a separate one for the rest.

Since xtool-org#337, the GSA URL bag lookup sends the Android client info, so
Apple returns the reduced Android bag pointing at gsd.apple.com instead
of gsa.apple.com (see xtool-org#339). Matches isideload 0.4.5:

- Use the Mac client info only for the URL bag lookup
- Use the Android client info and akd user agent for all other GSA
  requests, including ADI provisioning
- Stop sending Mac hardware identifiers in cpd
