feat: git blame achievement for contributors - #1271
A new achievement for everyone with a commit in this repository: git blame, "Landed a commit in the /dev/null repo itself. git blame now points at you." It replaces the contributor label from #1198.
Visual evidence
/@kachelle as a guest, against a separate local database with the real GitHub contributor list (kachelle has 16 commits in the repo). Before is production at 7af51f0, after is this branch. The arrows mark what's new. Captured with Playwright (headless Chromium).

New Features
Added the git blame achievement badge, bringing the total number of badges to 16. It unlocks when your GitHub account appears in the repository’s contributor list with at least one commit.
The badge’s progress is based on the GitHub account associated with your profile, rather than your GitHub handle. Its status may reflect cached contributor information until that information refreshes.
Unlocks when the user's GitHub account has at least one commit in the
repository, as GitHub's contributor list counts it. Achievements only read
the cached list, which the scheduler refreshes every half hour, so a
profile or a commit never waits on GitHub.

Walkthrough
The pull request adds a Git blame achievement. It uses a user’s GitHub account ID to find their commit count in the /dev/null contributor list, calculates badge progress, and renders the new badge icon in the achievements dialog and shelf.
ContributorsQuery returns the commit count for a matching GitHub account ID, or zero when contributor data or a match is unavailable. Tests cover account matching, an HTTP error, and contributor cache setup.

The new GitBlame achievement has a target of one. UserAchievementsQuery uses contributor commit counts for its progress. Tests and documentation describe the badge and its contributor-list basis.

Merge Risk: Low · up to 3a1dd
Contributor badges can temporarily lock during a GitHub outage, and some profile views or commit submissions may be slow when the cache expires. These bounded risks are suitable for owner awareness before merging.
Security architecture risk: Low · up to 3a1dd
The badge uses GitHub account IDs and does not grant privileges or XP. However, an expired contributor cache makes profile loads and commit submissions wait for GitHub, extending an external dependency into core requests. Existing caching, timeouts, and error handling limit the impact.
Retained concerns
Medium · reliability · observed: Cold-cache achievement computation now performs synchronous GitHub pagination during profile rendering and web commit submission. The fetch permits up to ten sequential requests, each with a five-second timeout, without single-flight protection. Concurrent misses can duplicate work before caching completes. The mechanism predates this PR on the About page, but the new callers extend its latency and failure-containment effects into core requests.
Security review details
Security Blast Radius
inferred — The incremental exposure is request latency and duplicated outbound work affecting profile and commit requests that use this cache. Profiles are guest-accessible, but anonymous callers could already trigger the same cache-miss fetch through About at the base revision. No new attacker-selected destination or increased credential authority is established.
Trust Boundaries and Controls
observed — GitHub contributor data becomes cosmetic badge progress, not an authorization decision or XP award. Web commit submission remains behind authentication, posting restrictions, commit rules, and commit throttling. Contributor parsing retains its existing account-type and field-type checks.
Resilience and Maintainability Implications
inferred — The cache read, remote fetch, and write are not coordinated across concurrent misses. In-flight readers can duplicate pagination, and a late failure can overwrite a successful result with the failure sentinel. This race predates the PR; new achievement callers increase opportunities to encounter it. Its badge-state effect is non-authoritative, while its request-capacity effect depends on unavailable production concurrency details.
Hardening Proposals
proposed — Decouple cosmetic achievement reads from synchronous contributor refreshes. An independently refreshed cache with coordinated refresh ownership would contain upstream latency and duplicate work without making badge availability part of commit submission.

replaces it.

Drops the cache-only read, refresh() and the scheduled task. The badge
now goes through the same cached fetch the About page uses, so an
earned badge stays for as long as that list is cached. Tests start from
an empty cached list so pages showing achievements don't ask GitHub.
