fix(orchestrator, flows): end the turn on spawned work, save proposals as delivered, name the proposed graph - #8448
The orchestrator no longer waits inside a turn for a spawned sub-agent: no shell sleeps, no polling, no re-spawning. A delivered workflow proposal ends the turn.
Saving an approved proposal hands workflow_builder that proposal's flow_id/draft_id, or, for a new proposal without ids, its name and graph verbatim. It no longer re-describes the workflow for a fresh build, which created a duplicate flow with create_workflow.
build_builder_proposal writes the resolved proposal name into the proposed graph, so the graph no longer carries an empty name.
Problem
These come from a live builder run on main (thread-491b0517, 19:07–19:34):
About 15 sleep 15–30 shell calls in the orchestrator's turns. It also spawned flow_discovery 4 times to check whether the flow existed, and re-spawned workflow_builder twice for a "fresh rebuild". Completions are already delivered as a follow-up turn (completion-router … notify_mode="followup"). The prompt line "continue the parent turn and use the delivered result when it arrives" invited the wait, and the todo_sequence hold on open plan steps kept the turn going.
On "save it" the orchestrator sent the builder "Save a new workflow called … The workflow graph: …", without the proposal's flow_id (01M5YSHQ1P92…) or draft_id. The builder rebuilt the workflow and ran create_workflow.
Every proposal in the thread had a missing or empty graph.name, although proposal.name was "Daily Tech Digest". edit_workflow resolves the name and passes it beside the graph, and build_builder_proposal never wrote it into the graph.
Solution
agent_registry/agents/orchestrator/prompt.md: replace the ambiguous sub-agent line with two rules (no waiting for spawned work, and how to save a delivered proposal). The body grows by about 300 bytes; the 8 KiB hermetic budget test covers it.
flows/ops/builder_gates.rs: stamp name into the graph object before building the payload. Test: proposal_graph_carries_the_proposal_name.

Bug Fixes
Workflow proposals now use a consistent name in both the proposal and its workflow details.
Workflow Updates
When a proposal is delivered, the agent ends its turn. To save it, the proposal’s identifiers—or its name, workflow details, and approval setting—must be passed along unchanged.
Results from newly started sub-agents remain pending until a later turn. The agent ends the current turn without waiting, polling, or restarting them, and keeps dependent plan steps open.
build_builder_proposal emitted the resolved name beside the graph but left the
graph's own name untouched, so a graph authored without one reached the
proposal card and a later save with an empty name while the card showed the
requested one.
… delivered
The orchestrator was told to continue the parent turn and use a spawned
result when it arrives, which it cannot within that turn. Live, it waited with
repeated shell sleeps, re-checked with flow_discovery and re-spawned the
builder. Say that a spawned result comes back as a new turn and must not be
polled for, that a delivered workflow proposal ends the turn, and that saving
one hands the builder the proposal's flow_id/draft_id rather than a
re-described rebuild (which created a duplicate flow with create_workflow).

Full summary
Pull request purpose (title): fix(orchestrator, flows): end the turn on spawned work, save proposals as delivered, name the proposed graph. Per the PR title and description, this change makes the orchestrator end its turn when work is spawned instead of waiting inside the turn, saves an approved proposal as delivered (by its ids, or verbatim name, graph and `require_approval` for a new proposal without ids) instead of re-describing a rebuild, and stamps the resolved proposal name into the proposed graph. The prompt rules land in the orchestrator prompt, the name stamping lands in `build_builder_proposal`, and a sibling test file adds the corresponding test. The latest-push delta is unavailable because no trusted base-to-head comparison exists, so nothing here is presented as a push delta.

Completeness: Complete Test assessment: No supported feature-to-test mapping was available; this does not mean tests are absent or passed.
Features
Modified — Orchestrator must not wait inside a turn for spawned sub-agent results: Replaces the prompt line that invited sleep/poll/re-spawn waiting with a rule to end the turn and let the completion arrive as a new turn, targeting the sleep calls and duplicate discovery/builder spawns described in the PR body. (crates/openhuman-core/src/agent_registry/agents/orchestrator/prompt.mdFirst match wins:)
Added — Delivered workflow proposal ends the turn and is saved as delivered: New orchestrator rule directs persisting an approved proposal via its `flow_id`/`draft_id`, or for a new proposal without ids its name, graph and `require_approval` verbatim, rather than re-describing a workflow for a fresh build, intended to prevent duplicate flows. (crates/openhuman-core/src/agent_registry/agents/orchestrator/prompt.mdFirst match wins:)
Modified — Proposed graph is stamped with the resolved proposal name: `build_builder_proposal` writes the resolved `name` into the cloned graph object so `graph.name` is no longer empty on the proposal card or on a subsequent save. (crates/openhuman-core/src/flows/ops/builder_gates.rspub(crate) async fn build_builder_proposal()

critique
Conclusion: Success
Scope reviewed: all assigned evidence
Positive: The critique lane answered with 3 of 3 files reviewed and no reportable defect, noting the prompt lines are non-executable text consistent with surrounding guidance and reference existing tool names.
Lane summary: This is a two-line prompt-only change to the orchestrator agent's instruction text; nothing in it is executable code, so no logic, error path, or caller can break. The new lines align with the surrounding guidance (asynchronous spawns, reuse of `task_key`, workflow proposals ending the turn), and the tool names they reference (`spawn_subagent`, `workflow_builder`, `flow_id`/`draft_id`, `require_approval`) exist in the core. I found no reportable defect. _The code index is behind this pull request (indexed at `a7fc271dc6b1`), so retrieved context may be out of date._

tests
Conclusion: Success
Scope reviewed: all assigned evidence
Positive: The tests lane answered with no reportable defects, citing the added test as pinning the name-stamping behavior.
Lane summary: The behaviour change stamps the resolved proposal name into the graph payload, and the added test fails if that stamping is removed (it asserts `payload["graph"]["name"]` equals the builder-supplied name on a graph whose own name is empty). The prompt.md edit is prose guidance with no testable behaviour. description
Conclusion: Success
Scope reviewed: all assigned evidence
Positive: The description lane answered finding the PR body matching the diff: the two prompt rules, the name stamping in the proposal payload, and a test for the name stamping.
Lane summary: The description matches the diff: it states that the orchestrator prompt gains two rules (no waiting on spawned work, save delivered proposals by ids or verbatim) and that `build_builder_proposal` stamps the resolved name into the graph, and the diff does exactly those three things plus a test for the name stamping. The prompt addition also matches the claimed ~300-byte growth covered by the existing byte-budget test. No description defect found. _The code index is behind this pull request (indexed at `a7fc271dc6b1`), so retrieved context may be out of date._

Walkthrough
The orchestrator instructions now define how to handle pending spawned results and delivered workflow proposals. Proposal building writes the resolved proposal name into the embedded graph. A test covers an empty input graph name.

Summary
Orchestrator result and proposal instructions crates/openhuman-core/src/agent_registry/agents/orchestrator/prompt.md
The instructions require ending the turn while awaiting spawned results and keeping dependent plan steps open. They also require presenting a delivered proposal before waiting for the user, then passing its identifiers or its name and graph to workflow_builder.
Proposal graph name crates/openhuman-core/src/flows/ops/builder_gates.rs, crates/openhuman-core/src/flows/ops_agent_binding_tests.rs
build_builder_proposal sets the embedded graph name to the resolved proposal name when the graph is an object. A test checks that both names match when the input graph name is empty.
tinyhumansai/openhuman#8443: Defines workflow_builder handling for existing identifiers and inline graphs, matching this PR’s proposal handoff instructions.
tinyhumansai/openhuman#8450: Saves proposals onto existing flows and preserves flow identity, which connects to this PR’s instructions to pass proposal identifiers.
tinyhumansai/openhuman#8399: Defines concurrent specialist work and returned handoff plans, related to this PR’s spawned-result timing instructions.

Explanation
The title names three changes: the orchestrator ends its turn on spawned work, delivered proposals are saved as delivered, and the proposed graph gets a name. The raw summary covers all three: the prompt.md guidance on pending results and workflow_builder saves, plus build_builder_proposal writing the resolved name into graph.name. The title is specific and tied to the main changes, though it lists three items and is long at 107 characters.

The builder saves with approval on when require_approval is omitted, so a
proposal delivered with require_approval: false would be saved differently
from how it was proposed.
