Stacked on #8361 (fix/raw-coverage-build-on-main). That PR makes the raw_coverage_all target compile; this branch contains its two commits. Review only the top commit, d1124cc. Once #8361 merges, the diff here shrinks to that commit.

Summary

  • inference_claude_code_full_access_toggle_round_trips_through_the_workspace: stale test. The toggle moved from claude_code_settings.json into the workspace's host storage (the tinyagents-harness / claude_code_settings KV namespace, e15c33a). The test asserted the file and then corrupted it. It now proves persistence by reading the toggle back over RPC (on → read back on → off → read back off) and keeps the schema-gate failure checks.
  • The inference.claude_code_settings RPC description and docs/gitbooks/en/developing/providers/claude-code.md still said the toggle lives in claude_code_settings.json. Both are corrected.
  • composio_action_tool_execute_reports_missing_route_without_network: missing test setup. The connector module reads the toolkit's scope preference from host storage before it needs a route. The test installed no storage, so its result depended on test order. Run alone it passed. After an earlier test had connected the module to storage, it failed with preference store failed for gmail: … unavailable: the storage host refused the operation. It now installs crate::HostStorage, taking CONNECTOR_MODULE_LOCK then ENV_LOCK like composio_ops_mode_is_local_….

Problem

#8361 makes the target compile, which exposes 5 of its 79 tests failing on main. This PR fixes 2 of them. A third, composio_controller_registry_and_scope_handlers_cover_validation_edges, is a product bug fixed by #8327, so this PR leaves that test alone.

  • Trace from cuttlefish: set_user_scopes Put → outcome="ok". On read-back, get_user_scopes Get → the module fails with serialization: unknown field \doc`, expected one of `document_id`, `version`, `document_json`, `meta``. The host then falls back to the default preference.
  • Cause: tinystoragedrivers 751e655 (2026-10-20) replaced the bus Versioned wire struct (document_json) with the native Versioned<T> (doc). Main pins tinyconnectors v0.21.0, which was built with tinystoragedrivers-busproxy 1.0.0, before that change. So any saved document fails to read back.
  • chore(modules): re-pin the loadable modules to their 2026-10-23 releases #8327 pins tinyconnectors v0.22.0 (busproxy 2.1.0 @05eaada, after the change). The other two pins built with busproxy 1.0.0, tinywallet v0.24.1 and tinyeventqueues v0.1.3, are bumped there too.

Solution

  • Test and doc changes only, plus one RPC description string. No behaviour change.

Submission Checklist

  • Tests updated (round-trip happy path plus the missing/wrong-type param failures)
  • Diff coverage ≥ 80%: N/A, the changed product line is a string constant; the remaining changes are tests and docs
  • Coverage matrix: N/A, no feature rows change
  • Feature IDs: N/A
  • No new external network dependencies
  • Manual smoke: N/A, not a release-cut surface
  • Linked issue: N/A, no issue

Impact

  • None at runtime. The corrupted-settings fail-safe the old test checked moved into storage, which this test can't reach to corrupt. It is enforced by tinyagents_harness::providers::claude_code::settings::load (a read error returns the safe default).

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Behavior
    • Claude Code full-access settings are stored in the workspace’s host storage rather than in a per-install settings file in the OpenHuman config directory. The full-access toggle continues to support enabling and disabling this setting.
  • Documentation
    • Updated the Claude Code provider guide to reflect the storage location. Default acceptEdits behavior, permission-mode environment variable values, and other access rules are unchanged.

…ontroller registry

Main removed the `openhuman_core::storage::MemoryStorage` re-export, and
`core::all::all_registered_controllers` now returns `ControllerEntry`s, so
`raw_coverage_all` (and `inbound_linked_e2e`) stopped compiling:

- E0433 tests/raw_coverage_all.rs:61, tests/inbound_linked_e2e.rs:51: install
the testkit `MemoryBackend` the core's own tests use, via a new
  `tinystoragedrivers-testkit` dev-dependency of openhuman-cli (same rev).
- E0308 tests/raw_coverage/inference_local_controllers_rpc_e2e.rs:219,473:
look up and invoke core-registry entries through `ControllerEntry::invoke`.
…h host storage

The claude-code full-access toggle moved from claude_code_settings.json into the workspace's host storage (e15c33a), so the test now proves persistence by reading the toggle back over RPC; the RPC description and the provider doc stop naming the file. The composio action-tool test installs host storage, which the connector module reads the scope preference from before it needs a route.

What changed

The `inference.claude_code_settings` RPC description in `crates/openhuman-core/src/inference/schemas/catalog.rs` and the gitbook permission-posture sentence in `docs/gitbooks/en/developing/providers/claude-code.md` now say the toggle is kept in the workspace's host storage rather than a JSON file. `Cargo.lock` is also in the changed-file list. The description notes the branch is stacked on #8361 and that a third failing test is a product bug fixed by #8327, left untouched here.

Features

  • Modified — Claude Code full-access toggle round-trip installs host storage and proves persistence by RPC read-back: The test installs the storage backend the toggle and Claude provider read from and asserts persistence through the store the handler actually uses rather than a file location; the on-disk and corrupt-file assertions for a path that no longer exists here are removed. (tests/raw_coverage/inference_provider_auth_e2e.rs async fn inference_claude_code_full_access_toggle_round_trips_through_the_worksp, tests/raw_coverage/inference_provider_auth_e2e.rs fn env_lock() -> tokio::sync::MutexGuard<'static, ()> {)
  • Modified — composio_action_tool_execute_reports_missing_route_without_network installs host storage before boot: The test no longer depends on test order: the connector module reads the toolkit scope preference from host storage before it needs a route, and storage is now installed under `ENV_LOCK` like the sibling composio test. (tests/raw_coverage/composio_host_helpers_e2e.rs async fn composio_ops_mode_is_local_and_trigger_history_reads_the_module_archive)
  • Internal refactor — In-memory host storage double swapped from MemoryStorage to tinystoragedrivers_testkit::MemoryBackend: Three integration suites install the TSD testkit backend instead of the core in-memory double, with the testkit crate added as a dev-dependency; test-only, no runtime effect. (crates/openhuman-cli/Cargo.toml tinyinference-llm = { path = "../../vendor/tinyagents/vendor/tinyinference/crate, tests/inbound_linked_e2e.rs async fn linked_tinyeventqueues_queues_dedupes_and_delivers_a_composio_trigger(), tests/raw_coverage_all.rs pub struct HostStorage<'lock>(std::marker::PhantomData<&'lock ()>);)
  • Modified — inference.claude_code_settings RPC description corrected to host storage: The schema description no longer claims the toggle lives in its own `claude_code_settings.json` beside `config.toml`; it now states the settings are kept in the workspace's host storage KV namespace. (crates/openhuman-core/src/inference/schemas/catalog.rs pub fn schemas(function: &str) -> ControllerSchema {)
  • Modified — claude-code provider docs corrected on where the full-access toggle is saved: The gitbook permission-posture section now says the toggle is saved in the workspace's host storage rather than `<workspace_dir>/claude_code_settings.json`, matching the updated persistence behavior. (docs/gitbooks/en/developing/providers/claude-code.md On macOS the spawn runs inside a Seatbelt jail (`sandbox-exec`) by default when)

Tests

  • modification — `composio_action_tool_execute_reports_missing_route_without_network` takes `CONNECTOR_MODULE_LOCK` then `ENV_LOCK` and installs `crate::HostStorage` before boot, so the toolkit scope-preference read from host storage is satisfied rather than depending on an earlier test having installed storage.: The description attributes this to missing test setup whose result previously depended on test order. The Answered tests lane reports no defect. Execution is not claimed as verified. (tests/raw_coverage/composio_host_helpers_e2e.rs async fn composio_ops_mode_is_local_and_trigger_history_reads_the_module_archive)

critique

  • Conclusion: Success
  • Scope reviewed: all assigned evidence
  • Positive: The critique lane is Answered with 8 of 8 files reviewed and 0 findings; its summary states the removed filesystem-based blocks tested behavior that no longer exists on the storage-backed path and that remaining assertions still cover default-off, the enable/disable round trip, and the schema gate.
  • Lane summary: Critique findings were capped at Likely confidence because retrieval was degraded: Read-back does not prove persistence to storage; Reinstate fail-safe coverage for unreadable settings. (1 finding dropped as disproved by the diff; 2 model findings retained at no more than Likely confidence because retrieval was degraded) _The code index is behind this pull request (indexed at `c0a3cdce568c`), so retrieved context may be out of date._

security

  • Conclusion: Success
  • Scope reviewed: all assigned evidence
  • Positive: The security lane is Answered with 7 of 7 reviewable files reviewed and 0 findings, describing the change as test-only with no untrusted input path, auth logic, or build change touched; the gitbook doc file was not security-reviewed because it is prose.
  • Lane summary: This is a test-only cleanup of tests/raw_coverage/inference_provider_auth_e2e.rs: it tidies the `OnceLock` import and `lock().await` formatting, installs host storage before the Claude Code full-access round-trip test, and drops the two assertions that inspected `claude_code_settings.json` on disk (that file is no longer written — the toggle lives in host storage) along with the corrupt-file fail-safe check that depended on it. The remaining read-back and error-path assertions still cover the contract, and nothing here touches an untrusted input path, auth logic, or the build. No findings. _The code index is behind this pull request (indexed at `c0a3cdce568c`), so retrieved context may be out of date._

tests

  • Conclusion: Success
  • Scope reviewed: all assigned evidence
  • Positive: The tests lane is Answered and reports no defect, describing the toggle round-trip as still proven by reading the value back through the RPC and the removal of on-disk assertions as matching the storage move.
  • Lane summary: The change migrates the Claude Code settings toggle (and the tests' storage install) onto the host storage backend, updates the schema description to match, and rewrites the affected E2E tests. The toggle round-trip is still proven by reading the value back through the RPC, and the removal of the on-disk assertions matches the storage move rather than weakening it. I found no defect in the test or production changes. _The code index is behind this pull request (indexed at `c0a3cdce568c`), so retrieved context may be out of date._

description

  • Conclusion: Success
  • Scope reviewed: all assigned evidence
  • Positive: The description lane is Answered and reports no defect introduced here, finding the changes consistent with the stated scope of tests, docs, and one description string, while noting it could not verify the removed file-based fail-safe against the vendored harness because vendor/tinyagents is not checked out.
  • Lane summary: This is the top commit of a stacked PR: it installs host storage in two raw-coverage tests, swaps the RPC description and provider doc to say the Claude Code toggle lives in the workspace's host storage, and rewrites the claude-code round-trip test to prove persistence by reading back over RPC instead of asserting a JSON file. The changes match the description's stated scope (tests, docs, one description string), and I see no defect introduced here. I could not verify the removed file-based fail-safe coverage against `tinyagents_harness::providers::claude_code::settings::load` because vendor/tinyagents is not checked out, but the removed assertion tested behaviour outside this repository, and the description discloses the coverage drop under Impact. _The code index is behind this pull request (indexed at `c0a3cdce568c`), so retrieved context may be out of date._

Explanation

The title "fix(tests): align the claude-code and composio raw-coverage tests with host storage" matches the main changeset. The PR moves the Claude Code full-access toggle from a JSON settings file to workspace host storage, and it updates the raw-coverage tests to install host storage (the Composio missing-route test and the Claude full-access round-trip test). The title is specific and names both affected areas. It does not mention the corrected RPC and documentation text, but that is a secondary detail. The title is also 83 characters, slightly longer than ideal, but still clear and readable.

Test #3 (composio_controller_registry_and_scope_handlers_cover_validation_edges) is green with #8327. Cuttlefish ran main 23c0a37 + this PR @fe90c58 + #8327 @5166ecb (cargo metadata --locked ok, no lock change), raw_coverage_all with product --core features, filters composio_host_helpers_e2e:: + the claude-code toggle test:

  • single-threaded: 7 passed, 0 failed;
  • multi-threaded: 7 passed, 0 failed;
  • 0 unknown field and 0 storage host refused lines.

On main without #8327 it fails (saved pref reads back as the default: serialization: unknown field \doc``). So #8327's tinyconnectors v0.22.0 pin is the fix, and this PR needs no change for it.
